♦ Review: The Vixen Creations Buddy

Buddy, my first anal plug by Vixen Creations, arrived packaged in a sturdy clear plastic cylinder.¹ Buddy is my very first experience with any Vixen Creations product, and I’m truly loving their silicone. Silicone is one of my favorite materials used for sex toys, especially for anal sex toys. Silicone is body safe, phthalates-free, latex-free, and sanitizeable. It’s good-clean-fun.

The Vixen Buddy is made of extremely flexible and even kind of squishy silicone. Though it is firm enough to make insertion easy when used in combination with a water-based lube. I received Buddy in the silver glitter edition from the folks at Vibrator.com. I’m very pleased to say that VC silicone is beautiful, especially when it’s filled with tons of silver glitter. I’m a total sparkles and glitter slore, I swear it was love at first sight.

Buddy is the most popular Vixen Creations anal toy, and this is for a very good reason.  The unique finger-like shape of Buddy allows for prostate stimulation, and possibly even G spot stimulation. Though I personally haven’t experienced a G-spot orgasm while only wearing it. I feel Buddy is a great choice for beginners, and also for the more experienced anal toy lovers. Because of it’s diminutive size, this anal plug is a very comfortable plug to wear for longer periods of time.

Buddy measures 4″ long, with about 3 1/2″ of insertable length, and about 3 1/2″ in circumference at the widest point. The narrow tip is very easy to insert but still offering the user a filling feeling with the bulbous body. The teardrop-shaped flared base makes it a perfect and safe choice for anal play and allows the toy to stand up on it’s own. Additionally I’ve read that Buddy can be used in a harness, but why would you do that? Ok maybe someone would like to. Buddy just doesn’t seem like my first choice for a harness. He’s rather petite, and he’s designed to insert and let be. Also I think I’d prefer a tad larger toy for that feat.  But, I’m not speaking from experience because I don’t own a harness. Yet.

To make sure your Buddy anal plug stays in tip top condition, be sure to never use it in unison with a silicone lube, also please dear bejeezus make sure you wash it with soap and warm water before and after each use, and sanitize often. Care for your toy, because it cares for you, and also because if you play with a dirty toy you will most likely get an infection.

I feel that buddy performed quite well for what I was looking for. I hoped that Buddy would be the anal plug to wear for longer periods of time and that’s just what I found to be true. Buddy is comfortable, and that makes my ass happy. Plain and simple. As a bonus, my fiancé also enjoys the shimmer of the plugs base between my cheeks. Lovely! The only thing that I would change about My Buddy would be the taper under the bulb to the base of the plug. If this area were to be tapered a slight bit more, I wouldn’t need to worry about this plug popping out upon orgasm. As of now, my partner is able to hold the plug when doggy-style, but for solo encounters it’s a bit problematic.
